Young Israel of West Hempstead

Our shul is located approximately 1 mile north of the Southern State Parkway - Exit 17N and is approximately 45 minutes from Manhattan on the Long Island Rail Road.

We have approximately 600 member families.

Our community has an Eruv which covers not only West Hempstead, but also parts of Franklin Square. It includes three Orthodox shuls, a mikvah, two Amit chapters, an Emunah chapter, junior and senior NCSY chapters, and many other organizations that create a complete Jewish community.

In town we have many kosher food suppliers with very reliable supervision, including a pizza store, a glatt kosher Chinese Restaurant, a glatt kosher butcher/grocery store and two bagel stores. Our supermarkets, as well as our butcher, carry a large supply of kosher grocery products.
