Our Shul

Welcome to the Young Israel of West Hempstead. We are an Orthodox synagogue located in the heart of Long Island that has provided minyanim, shiurim and programming in the area for over 50 years. Now, almost seven hundred families strong, we are one of the most vibrant and fastest growing Orthodox synagogues in the country. Our success can be attributed to many factors, not least among them the dedication of our membership. Please look through our website for a taste of what our shul has to offer. Read More

Yom Hashoah Program

This year’s Yom Hashoah Program featured guest speaker, Marion Blumenthal Lazan, author of “Four Perfect Pebbles.” An unforgettable memoir of the devestating years that shaped her childhood. It also featured Sari Borenstein and Michal Kupchik, reading excerpts from their journals of their visits to the concentration camps in Poland, as well as vocals from Eli Kahn, Daniel Lev, Joshua Levine and Tzvi Schwartz. If you were unable to attend, here is the program in its entirety.
